Forever Lover

Late night summer walk up the hill to an Inn
That rests high above the sea
Starlight so clear, bright; still amazes me
Enough to stop, take a breath; pause
Each step is a reminder of all that I have
…found and lost
Where I’ve been and where I’m going
Should I go left or right at the proverbial fork in the road
Peaceful reverie of the past; sway joyfully into the future
Approach and follow a shooting star…as I tend to do
My heart bobby-pinned behind my left ear – flower
Moved from my love worn and torn lapel – boutonniere
As the temperature shifts; a balmy breeze brushes my cheek
And a desire to let it all go; continue sending out a vibration
That love will find me again; maybe one last time
The feel of warm hands; the passion of a deep kiss
Kindness and grace; simplicity in the way the heart beats
When a common thread connects – in-sync with love
And the soul is moved by the poetry of a forever lover
