I continue to stand between
a breakwater and a shallow grave
all the while off in the distance
I can hear with clarity; the call
of an untamable and vast ocean
gentle hands holding sand and sea reach;
holding space for my most joyful dreams
I have danced on a narrow sandbar;
built by drifting seashells and lost souls
swam with the dolphins in the Atlantic
pause at the rhythmic rise and fall
of a pure and yet – obscured love
just as the tides begin to turn;
taking with it treasures found
colorful sea-glass catches a glimpse of a
sun-rising seductively in an eastern sky;
uncovering all of my vulnerabilities my endless
wishful thinking and peaceful reverie
