Walk Down-Stairs

walk up-stairs; number seven – lingers
white noise turns into a last nerve burn

heart beat races. hesitation is a pull; but,
will, is taking each step; it’s more of a draw

than a scribble when that little voice pops;
whispering in moments of a loneliness buzz

recall is a gentle memory of wanting
reality; harsh images of what truly is

floating slo-mo snippets of you, me;
kisses deep, laughter and candle light

full blown color movie set on auto-replay
coffee in bed. window open, breeze blows

conversational dead zone, eyes glisten
the kiss, the hug, while being escorted

to the door. words spoken land; fall flat
walk down-stairs; number seven – lingers
